Work

When Nick approached immigrant rights influencer Carlos Eduardo Espina (13M+ followers) about supporting Adam Gray in CA-13, he declined - his focus was on helping farm workers and fighting for labor rights, not congressional politics. So we sponsored a trip for Carlos to come to D.C. and learn about farm worker issues in the Central Valley, home to CA-13. Carlos became deeply invested. He agreed to co-host several in-district rallies for the Gray campaign and spread the word about Adam across his channels. His events brought out hundreds of voters, and his videos gained nearly 10M views. Adam Gray successfully flipped CA-13 by just under 200 votes.

Enlisting the Support of a National Creator to Flip a House Seat

Speaker Adrienne Adams’ Mayoral campaign did not have a pre-existing digital program when she launched just three months before Election Day (less than 3,000 followers on IG). Given the short runway to build a large social following, we instead decided to partner with our endorsers to introduce the Speaker online. Despite our low social footprint, the endorsement video we scripted and shot with Chi Ossé would go on to reach over 100,000 viewers.

Creating an Online Community to Raise Millions and Shape the National Battlefield

While at the DCCC, Nick partnered with Democratic commentator Simon Rosenberg to launch an online campaign on Simon’s Substack and focus grassroots energy towards Democratic candidates running in “the most flippable” Republican-held seats. Nick worked with Simon to select candidates, coordinate interviews, and host weekly phonebanks with his subscribers. The campaign would go on to raise nearly $2M dollars and make over 1M phonebank calls in the lead up to election day.
